The Experience
Your photo session is planned with you and for you. A custom photography experience as unique as you are.
Through the whole experience, I'll be here for you every step of the way. We begin by planning your session together and complete the experience by choosing the perfect wall art and albums to display your favorite images.
The Client Process
01
PLANNING CONSULTATION
After you have scheduled your session, we will meet for a Planning Consultation at our studio in downtown Dayton to discuss your personalized photo session, what to expect, how the photo session will flow, how to prepare for your engagement session, headshots, or senior portraits, policies, and my overall style. I will show you the artwork and keepsakes we offer as well as the different ways your portraits can be displayed. We are very selective with what we choose to offer and we will never offer something we wouldn't display in our own home, so you can be sure that the pieces you choose are of the highest quality.
I will ask you what you expect to come of your session. What is the main purpose of the session? Is this an anniversary or engagement photoshoot? If these are senior photos, we'll talk about what interests he or she has, any sports that they play, what kinds of things they like. I'll assist you in choosing what to wear for engagement photos and senior portraits, and give you ideas on local boutiques that have lots of clothing that photographs well. We will also discuss where and how you are planning on displaying your artwork. It's OK if you don't have a plan yet. That's what this time is set aside for and I am here to help.

PHOTO SESSION
If you're a senior, our Deluxe Session is the most popular option beginning with hair and makeup at the studio for about an hour and a half before your session. While you're getting glam with one of our professional hair and makeup artists, I'll be planning out our studio shoot, matching outfits to backdrops, seamless paper, and studio sets. If you've chosen the rooftop or downtown as part of your senior photoshoot, then we'll do your studio shoot first and time it so we're finishing up on the rooftop or our downtown spot when the lighting is just right.
Outdoor sessions begin about an hour and a half before sunset so that we have the most beautiful light. If you are doing a Classic Senior Session at an outdoor location one of our hair and makeup artists will come to your home and get you all ready! For couples or engagement sessions, you'll have the option of adding on hair and makeup, which I highly recommend!
I will pose and guide you the entire time and I promise to make you feel comfortable and confident in front of the camera. You can expect your session to last one to two hours, but there is no set time limit. We shoot until we're done!

ORDERING SESSION
The ordering session!! This is the best part of the entire experience! We've put a great deal of thought and planning into every aspect of your photo session to ensure that your photos are everything you've dreamed of and it all leads up to this moment.
About two weeks after your photo session you'll come back in to the studio to view your images for the first time in a beautiful slideshow set to music and then I will walk you through the entire ordering process. I am here to help you select your favorite ways to display your images, choose appropriately sized wall art, design albums, and make sure that grandparents (and other family members) get the gift prints you promised them. My goal is for your moments and images to be treasured as works of art that are passed on for generations and enjoyed by your children's grandchildren. After all, isn't that why we do this to begin with?
Usually Elizabeth is very uncomfortable getting her picture taken, but she instantly felt at ease. This helped her photos look relaxed and natural. She felt like a supermodel and was having so much fun she didn't want the session to end!

When do you schedule your sessions?
We typically schedule engagement photo sessions, headshots, and senior photo sessions on Wednesdays and Thursdays, with Consultations and Ordering Appointments on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Deluxe Sessions (our most popular senior experience) begins with hair and makeup at our studio in Downtown Dayton, Ohio. Studio sessions can be scheduled for any time of day, but if we're doing a combo of studio + rooftop or downtown, you'll arrive at the studio about four hours before sunset. So depending on the time of year, your hair and makeup might start at 1:30 pm in the late fall and winter, 4:00 pm in spring and early fall, and 5:00 pm in the summer.
If it's an outdoor shoot, it will begin about an hour and a half before sunset. So depending on the time of year, anywhere from 4:30 - 7:30 pm. If your session includes hair and makeup, that will begin about two hours before your session time.
What types of payments do you accept?
We accept cash, check, Venmo, and debit/credit cards.
When you book your session you'll pay the session fee, which holds your date for you, and is non-refundable. Then you don't need to worry about anything else until you place your order at your Ordering Appointment. We do have financing available, so if that's something you're interested in, just ask!
How far in advance should I schedule my session?
It's never too early to book your session!
We take a limited number of sessions each month so that we can give each client our full attention, so if you know you want your photoshoot during a specific month or season, the best thing you can do is go ahead and get it on our schedule. Depending on the time of year, sometimes were are booking 2-3 months out, so this will guarantee you have your session when you want it. You'll pay your session fee to secure your spot during the month of your choice and when we get about a month and a half out, we'll select a specific date for your session as well as your consultation.
How do I book a session with you?
When you decide to book your session, just send us an email! You'll receive a Welcome Guide with a link to schedule a phone call so that we can go over the details and choose your session date and consultation date. You'll pay the session fee, reserve your dates, sign the contract, and then you're all set!
Session Fees
We offer a full service, custom photography experience for all of our clients. This means that we are there for you from the planning all the way to the ordering. We'll make sure your session is everything you dreamed of, and that you walk away with beautiful artwork and albums.
Your session fee does not include any prints, products, or digitals - those are all purchased separately at your Ordering Session.
